SHEILA SMITH |
I was born in Toronto, and from the beginning of my kindergarten years, I loved to pick up crayons and draw on whatever surfaces I found. My parents did not appreciate the new "wall" art, but we finally came to an agreement - paper, paper, and more paper1
I moved to London Ontario with my daughter in 1980 and started working in Accounting at the University of Western Ontario. During my 29 years of working there, I took every opportunity to spend time on my art taking workshops. I worked with stained-glass for twenty years, made jewellery, did sewing, pottery, but always went back to my love of painting and drawing. Most recently I have been taking graphite and pencil art and I am still in the process of perfecting this medium.
I lived in Lucan for nine years and have been residing in Belmont, Ontario since January of 2020. I belong to three art guilds and have art being shown at the Art Emporium in Port Stanley and in the Elgin Mall at We Get Creative.
I hope you enjoy what you see.
Thank you. Sheila
