Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by nature. From an early age I was fascinated by the intricacy of flowers and plants and entertained by a great variety of birds that I learned to identify. Today my much smaller city garden still offers a colourful playground filled with endless inspiration. I enjoy sketching with mricron pens, watercolour and have recently started exploring acrylic paintings.
I have also created soft textile owls for the past few years, selling them at craft shows, calling my small business "Give a Hoot".
In May 2018 I created 30 "Hoots" for Hotel Metro a boutique hotel in downtown London, then did subsequent reorders as the "hoots" sold. They are using them as their Hotel mascot and are featured in each of their rooms.
