I am an arts and crafts person. There's so many interests it's hard to get them all done. I'm working on it. Knitting, sewing, crafts for kids or the home, sketching or ceramics and more have added fun, gifts and interest most of my life. Busy hands and all that, right? I started sketching early and it was a great way to be busy and create ideas that put things and people together as if I was able to take that Kodak moment. |
Now, I paint. I have created moments from watercolour and acrylics that I show and I'm learning all the time.
I encourage art with everyone in many forms to express feelings, talent and as an activity. Strathroy Art Group is my first art home as well as the St. Thomas Art Guild. My showings have included Muggs in Strathroy, The Resource Centre in. St. Thomas, the Art Show at CASO in St. Thomas, the Port Stanley Theatre and now, the Strathroy Library.
I have been featured in The Villager in January/February 2022 , now April 2023, as well as the Art Groups' web sites. I've taken valuable courses in drawing and painting in both watercolour and acrylics through the London Museum and Fanshawe College but there is a lot of reading and self taught work to achieve a better result. A friend saw me struggling and told me "Don't think, just do it". That works and time just disappears as an image appears on the canvas. My family, friends and faithful dog give me memories, fresh ideas and encouragement.
