I am a life long creative, dabbling during motherhood and career in knitting and crochet(and very rarely stuck to the patterns-always added my own variations), tole painting and acrylics, finally settling down into watercolours a little over 2 years ago, when my life took an unpredicted turn.
I love to tell stories through my pieces, and my style is a straddling of realism and impressionism, leaning more one way or the other depending on how the subject is speaking to me. I also came to fall in love with portraiture after taking a few courses and re-creating some of my fathers childhood photos which were fading and cracking from age, and the Black and White monotone which is what I also prefer adds a certain historic quality which I find mesmerizing.
I also love recreating the beautiful local land and seascapes, especially those places that are special to an individual. Although I hail from Northwestern Ontario, I have called Southern Ontario home since 2006 and West Elgin for the last year(although I have frequently visited family here for the prior 4 years)
