"Nancy Ivan recently returned home to her birthplace of St.Thomas, Ontario after many years of moving and residing in the Hamilton, Windsor and Ottawa regions with her husband and fur babies. She has always enjoyed “dabbling” in the arts. Be it visual arts such as drawing and painting, or music, she's always felt the arts have a connection to the soul and a way of speaking to our emotions. It can bring us peace, calmness and emotionally release in challenging times, or inspire us to think outside the box and let our imagination run wild.
As a primarily self-taught art enthusiast, Nancy's art journey started in acrylic paints, but in 2021, she discovered an interest in watercolour - fascinated by the way the water and pigments could move on the paper as if they had a mind of their own. She has enjoyed the challenge of trying to harness control of this medium as well as releasing control to let the paint create its magic.
