CFS Blurb
Founded in 1952, the Colour and Form Society (CFS) is a not-for-profit organization of accomplished visual artists based in Ontario and a longstanding part of Canada’s artistic community. The CFS celebrates diversity, creative freedom, and independent artistic expression, supporting artists working across a broad range of styles, perspectives, and techniques. Through exhibitions, the Society showcases excellence and encourages greater appreciation of the visual arts.
Rooted in Canada’s post-war cultural history, the CFS was established by talented European artists among the many “New Canadians” who brought new perspectives and creative energy to the country. Their collective exhibitions helped contribute to the growing awareness and appreciation of art in Canada during the 1950s and 1960s.
Today, the CFS remains one of Ontario’s longest-standing continuously active art societies, enriched by its multicultural heritage and sustained by the dedication and volunteer efforts of its members.

74th OJE Blurb
Each fall, the Colour and Form Society (CFS) presents its annual Open-Juried Exhibition, welcoming both members and non-members to showcase outstanding original fine art. The exhibition celebrates a broad range of artistic styles, perspectives, and cultural influences, reflecting the diversity and creativity of Canada’s visual arts community. Artists whose work is accepted into the exhibition may also be invited to submit for consideration for elected CFS membership.
To recognize artistic excellence and encourage greater public appreciation of original fine art, the CFS presents awards at its Opening Receptions, which are open to all art lovers. The Society gratefully acknowledges the longstanding support of the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery and the Assembly Hall for providing exhibition space.
